In December, I will be traveling with other members of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program to volunteer at Baan Unrak in west Thailand. The orphanage is home to over 130 children, many of them refugees from Myanmar, as well as refugee women, who are provided with a job, training for future careers, and English lessons. Baan Unrak also operates a primary school and several social programs. As an aspiring medical practitioner, one of their programs I find particularly worthwhile is aiding residents of Sangkhlaburi, the town in which they are located, in finding and funding medical care. Because they are so involved in making their community a better place, Baan Unrak is always in need of donations. Please consider making a difference through donating to this amazing orphanage.
