Art Center Matching Challenge

 Since our founding in 2003, the Art Center of the Bluegrass has proudly served our mission to connect our community to art, culture, and creativity. Art invites us to explore the unfamiliar and introduces us to ideas and cultures outside of our own. We believe art should be accessible to all and serve our community through high quality programming at little or no cost. No matter who you are or where you're from, there is a place for you at the Art Center.

 We are currently in the midst of ArtSee, an expansion project that is doubling our footprint and expanding the reach of our programming. This expansion includes the adaptive reuse of a 11,000-square-foot historic property located next door in the heart of downtown Danville. This expansion supports programming development and growth that includes new educational spaces, new exhibit spaces, an expanded curated gift gallery featuring local artists' works, an exciting new culinary classroom, more artists studios, an innovative café called Murrini focused on fresh food and eco-friendly practices, a large renovated ballroom for community and private events, a rooftop patio/bar, a small glass blowing studio, and a glass sales gallery. In October, we opened GLASS, a national art museum featuring the collection of the late internationally renowned hot glass artist Stephen Rolfe Powell, while also featuring works from other glass artists like Lino Tagliapietra and Dante Marioni.

 All of this will strengthen the regions arts eco-system, for which we are a cornerstone. We rely on funding through grants, sponsorships and individual donors like you who understand the importance of arts access for all and what an impact art has on our daily lives.
