The City of Glendale Design Review Board approved a project to
build a 3,261 sq ft. plus garage, two-story modern McMansion on Los Encinos
Ave. The project exists in the hillside of Verdugo Woodlands, Glendale,
Ca. This is a quaint and charming
neighborhood of mostly 1300 sq ft one-story homes. The project will negatively
impact six homes as they will lose privacy, view of mountains, air circulation,
and sunlight. The project is incompatible with the spirit and character of the neighborhood. We will all suffer from this detrimental construction.
We are homeowners and residents who strongly oppose this design.
The design, style, and excessive mass and scale, is totally incompatible with the
unique historic character of existing homes built between 1920-1955.
Please help us preserve Verdugo
Woodlands. Destroying communities like these when property owners are
in opposition is detrimental to the City and the community. We do not feel that five Design Review Board members should have the power to impose this massive construction
resulting in hardship and the quality of life of the people who actually live
there.
Help preserve a historic community and those that live there.
Your street could be next!
We are gathering funds to appeal to the Glendale City Council in
hopes they will over rule the Design Review Board's decision. We hope to reach
a compromise that allows the builder to build but, create a house that is
compatible. We need your help to fight
this government decision and to protect our families and community. (Your contribution can be confidential or
public.)
Hoping for your support!
