The SADD chapters at King Philip and Franklin High Schools are committed to ensuring our Walk of Tears participants and the greater community stay safe. Therefore, we have made the collective decision to continue the Walk of Tears (5k Run/Walk) in memory of Maura D. Howard and Amy Callaghan, victims of drunk drivers, as a virtual event for 2021.
Keeping Maura and Amy's memories alive is our top priority and spreading awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving through scholarships in their honor is crucial.
Throughout the month of April, you will be able to participate in the virtual Walk of Tears. We are asking for a minimum donation of $10. You can register and complete as many 5k (3.1 miles) runs/walks as you would like between Thursday, April 1–Friday, April 30.
Let’s stay connected! Please tag @kingphilipSADD in your stories and posts on Instagram so we can collect your unique experiences.
We will miss walking together and look forward to resuming an in-person event in 2022. We are incredibly grateful for all of the community support throughout the years. Thank you for your continued commitment and participation in the Walk of Tears. Please stay well, spread kindness, and take care of yourselves.
Donation by Mail: Please make checks payable to Maura D. Howard Memorial Fund and send to Foxboro Saving 160 Main Street Norfolk, MA 02056.
