Every year, ChesMRC raises funds to be set aside for our immigrant families to use in cases of emergency when they are unable to obtain assistance from other agencies.

Every year, ChesMRC manages a small fund to be used to immediately assist immigrant families when faced with an emergency or hardship, and they are not able to obtain assistance from other agencies due to the nature of their hardship or their immigration status. These funds are discretionary, and used only when staff are unable to identify other means to resolve an urgent issue. In past years, these funds have been used to assist clients to pay immigration fees for work authorization, residency and citizenship; assist with emergency funeral costs; urgent transportation costs; and temporary housing.
