Hello everyone, my name is Aisha A., and I’m a first-generation college student pursuing my dream of becoming a pharmacist. Thirteen years ago, my parents made the difficult decision to leave our home country, which was becoming increasingly unstable and corrupt, in search of a better life and education for their children. They brought us to the United States with nothing but hope and determination. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve been accepted into an incredible graduate-level pharmacy program at South Dakota State University (SDSU). While I’m truly grateful for this opportunity, I’m now facing a major financial challenge. Because this is a graduate program, I no longer qualify for financial aid, and my family, who has already sacrificed so much, simply cannot afford to help me with tuition. For the past four years, I’ve worked hard and paid for my own education, but pharmacy school is far more demanding and expensive, and it’s become too much to manage on my own. I’m reaching out with humility and hope to ask for your support. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help me continue this journey and achieve a degree that will not only change my life, but also create the kind of long-term stability my family has never known.
